Hembree Wins Bass Fishing League Event on the Barren River

WHAT : Boater Jarrod Hembree of Berea, Ky., caught nine-bass weighing 26 pounds, 14 ounces Sept. 18-19 to win $5,137 in the Bass Fishing League Mountain Division tournament on the Barren River. Hembree was using jig in six feet of water to catch his fish.

 4th: Jake Morris, McKee, Ky., nine bass, 20, $1,199

 5th: Jason Vanhook, East Bernstadt, Ky., nine bass, 18-7, $1,027

 6th: Vernon Sowers, Richmond, Ky., 10 bass, 18, $942

 7th: Freddy Adkins, East Bernstadt, Ky., 10 bass, 17-14, $856

 8th: Gary Morrison, Scottsville, Ky., seven bass, 17-7, $771

 9th: David Oliver, East Bernstadt, Ky., eight bass, 16-6, $685

 10th: Michael Emberton, Tompkinsville, Ky., six bass, 15-11, $599

WHAT : Tyler Moberly of Berea, Ky., caught a nine-bass weighing 22 pounds, 3 ounces Sept. 18-19 to win $2,569 in the Co-angler Division. He was using a 3/8 ounce Cumberland Pro Caster in six feet of water to catch his fish.

NOTES: The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings from the Mountain Division have now qualified for the Oct. 7-9 Regional Championship on Lake Barkley in Kuttawa, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
