Jones Wins Bass Fishing League Event On Clarks Hill Lake

Boater Tim Jones of North Augusta, S.C., won the March 12 BFL Savannah River Division tournament on Clarks Hill Lake to earn $7,089. Jeff Rikard of Leesville, S.C., won in the co-angler division of the BFL Savannah River Division on Clarks Hill Lake March 12 to win $2,545.

 WHAT:              Boater Tim Jones of North Augusta, S.C., caught a five-bass limit weighing 18 pounds, 5 ounces March 12to win $7,089 in the BFL Savannah River Division tournament on Clarks Hill Lake.

 NOTES:            The next BFL Savannah River Division tournament is scheduled for April 2 on Lake Russell in Elberton, Ga. After the fifth Savannah River Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 20-22 Regional Championship on Lake Chickamauga in Chattanooga, Tenn. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
