Fannin Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament On Dale Hollow Lake

BYRDSTOWN, Tenn. – Curt Fannin of Prestonburg, Ky., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 21 pounds even Saturday to win the Bass Fishing League Mountain Division bass fishing tournament on Dale Hollow Lake. For his victory, Fannin earned $6,686.

Boater Curt Fannin of Prestonsburg, Ky., took first place at the March 17 BFL Mountain Division event at Dale Hollow Lake.

Rounding out the top 10 pros were:

          2nd:   Chris Gerrein, Villa Hills, Ky., five bass, 20-14, $2,343

          3rd:   Perry Neathery, Albany, Ky., five bass, 19-04, $1,562

          4th:    Mark Neal, Livingston, Tenn., five bass, 18-00, $1,093

          5th:    Billy Joe Johnson, Byrdstown, Tenn., five bass, 16-9, $937 + $1,000 Evinrude Bonus

          6th:    Mike Devere, Berea, Ky., five bass, 16-7, $859

          7th:    Todd Beaty, Cookeville, Tenn., five bass, 16-5, $781

          8th:    Densmore Goodson, Letcher, Ky., five bass, 15-15, $703

          9th:    Aaron Bidarian, Somerset, Ky., five bass, 15-14, $586

          9th:    David Oliver, East Bernstadt, Ky., five bass, 15-14, $586

Jacob Cross of Cookeville, Tenn., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 14 pounds, 9 ounces Saturday to win $2,343 in the co-angler division.

          6th:    Jason Cook, Edwardsburg, Mich., five bass, 10-10, $430

          7th:    David Stone, Richmond, Ky., five bass, 10-7, $391

          9th:    Joe Silvers, Monticello, Ky., two bass, 9-14, $312

The next BFL Mountain Division tournament is scheduled for April 14 on Lake Cumberland in Monticello, Ky. After the fifth Mountain Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 11-13 Regional Championship on Kerr Lake in Henderson, N.C. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.

The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 120 tournaments throughout the season, five in each division. The top 40 boaters and co-anglers from each division qualify for a regional tournament and compete to finish in the top six, which then qualifies them the BFL All-American. The 2012 BFL All-American is being held May 17 – 19 on the Potomac River in National Harbor, Md. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the EverStart Series or even the FLW Tour.
