Boater Chris Cox of Greenville, N.C., caught nine bass weighing 31 pounds, 3 ounces to win the Sept. 10-11 BFL Piedmont Division bass fishing tournament on Lake Gaston to earn $4,324. Tom Holt of Cornelius, N.C., was the highest-placing co-angler in the Sept. 10-11 BFL Piedmont Division event, earning $2,162. Cox was using a green pumpkin jig around docks to catch his bass.
