Boater Phillip Bates of Bon Aqua, Tenn., caught 10 bass weighing 30 pounds, 12 ounces to win the Sept. 10-11 BFL LBL Division bass fishing tournament on Kentucky/Barkley lakes to earn $5,126. Scott Wasson of Evansville, Ind., won the Co-angler title with nine bass that weighed 18-14 at the Sept. 10-11 BFL LBL Division event. Bates was fishing shallow on the south end of Kentucky Lake using topwater and Rat-L-Trap baits to catch his limits.
