Sykes Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Kerr Lake

Boater Brandon Sykes of Apex, N.C., caught a five-bass limit weighing 15 pounds, 10 ounces to win the June 4 Bass Fishing League Shenandoah Division bass fishing tournament on Kerr Lake to earn $3,156. Paul Kotula of Raleigh, N.C., was the highest-placing co-angler at the June 4 Walmart BFL Shenandoah Division event

NOTES:            The next BFL Shenandoah Division tournament is scheduled for June 25 on the James River in Richmond, Va. After the fifth Shenandoah Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Nov. 3-5 Regional Championship on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, S.C. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
