Boater Dean Meckes of Clayton, N.Y., caught a five-bass limit weighing 17 pounds, 9 ounces to win the July 9 BFL Northeast Division bass fishing tournament on Lake Cayuga to earn $5,255. John Detweiler of Harleysville, Pa., was the highest-placing co-angler at the July 9 BFL Northeast Division event. Meckes used a green pumpkin Senko in 8 to 12 feet of water to catch his fish.

NOTES: The next BFL Northeast Division tournament is scheduled for July 23 on 1000 Islands in Clayton, N.Y. After the fifth Northeast Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 13-15 Regional Championship on Smith Mountain Lake in Huddleston, Va. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
