Olinger Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Potomac River

Boater Terry Olinger of The Plains, Va., caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 38 pounds, 6 ounces to win the Sept. 24-25 BFL Shenandoah Division bass fishing tournament on the Potomac River to earn $7,197. Robert Gerber of The Plains, Va., was the highest-placing co-angler in the Sept. 24-25 BFL Shenandoah Division event, earning $2,599.  Olinger fished mid-lake and used a variety of baits to catch his bass.

WHAT:              Robert Gerber of The Plains, Va., caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 30 pounds, 7 ounces Sept. 24-25 to win $2,599 in the Co-angler Division.  Gerber fished a grass pattern and also used a variety of baits to catch his bass.

NOTES:            The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Nov. 3-5 Regional Championship on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, S.C. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
