Howington Wins Bass Fishing League Event on Watts Bar Lake

Boater Rick Howington of Gate City, Va., won the March 19 BFL Volunteer Division tournament on Watts Bar Lake to earn $3,889. Corey Neece of Bristol, Tenn., was the highest-placing co-angler at the March 19 BFL Volunteer Division event.

 WHAT:              Boater Rick Howington of Gate City, Va., caught four bass weighing 20 pounds, 4 ounces March 19 to win $3,889 in the BFL Volunteer Division tournament on Watts Bar Lake.

 NOTES:            The next BFL Volunteer Division tournament is scheduled for April 9 on Douglas Lake in Kodak, Tenn. After the fifth Volunteer Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 13-15 Regional Championship on Smith Mountain Lake in Huddleston, Va. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
