B.A.S.S. announced today that JL Marine Systems, supplier of Power-Pole shallow water anchors, has renewed its sponsorship relationship with the organization and will be a supporting sponsor of the Bassmaster Elite Series, Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens and Bassmaster Marshal Program in 2012. In addition, Power-Pole will be the title sponsor of the 2012 Bassmaster Elite Series bass fishing event to be held on Lake Okeechobee, Fla., March 22-25.
As part of the sponsorship renewal, Power-Pole will continue its Captain’s Cash contingency program under which the top finisher in each Elite Series and postseason tournament using a Power-Pole product will earn an additional $1,000 in prize money.
Just a few years ago, “shallow water anchors” were unusual features on bass boats, but with the advent of the Power-Pole, shallow water anchor they're becoming almost as common as outboards and sonar units.
“We’re pleased to be continuing our relationship with B.A.S.S. and so many of the Bassmaster Elite Series anglers,” said Bob Shamblin, Vice President of JL Marine Systems, the manufacturer of Power-Pole. “Our growth in the bass industry in recent years has been exciting, and we look forward to spreading the word about our shallow water anchors as we watch the pros use them to catch more bass.”
The Power-Pole shallow water anchoring system is currently a fixture on the majority of Elite Series anglers’ boats. The company is the title sponsor of Chris Lane, a two-time B.A.S.S. winner and qualifier for the 2012 Bassmaster Classic on the Red River, La., Feb. 24-26.
Bruce Akin, B.A.S.S.’ chief executive officer, offered praise for Power-Pole in summing up his expectations for the coming year: “We’re anticipating a great year in 2012, and top-of-the-line sponsors like Power-Pole help to make those expectations a reality. One reason B.A.S.S. is the worldwide authority and leader in the industry is because we have the support of Power-Pole and other industry leaders.”
