BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — B.A.S.S. member Adam Tucker did it. Now B.A.S.S. and Rapala are challenging other anglers to “snap to it” and enter the 2012 Rapala Photo Contest.

For the best snapshot, a monthly winner will receive six Rapala lures and recognition in Bassmaster magazine. The photo must be of an angler with a bass caught on a Rapala lure while bass fishing. Fish size doesn’t matter, but photo quality does, and the Rapala lure used to land the fish must be visible in the photo. B.A.S.S. judges will select the month’s best submission based solely on those criteria. (Hint: make sure the digital camera is set to a fairly large file size because a tiny file can’t be turned into a magazine photo.)

Entering is easy. Anglers need only to email their digital photos to “facebook@bassmaster.com” with the subject line “2012 Rapala Photo Contest.”

Each month’s winners will not only appear in the pages of Bassmaster, but also in the dedicated Rapala album that will soon go up on the B.A.S.S. Facebook page (www.facebook.com/bass). Tucker, January’s winner who had his photo published in the February issue of Bassmaster, will also be able to see his photo in the online album.

The contest is a joint project of lure maker Rapala and B.A.S.S., the bass fishing organization with more than 500,000 members.

“This contest is pure fun for B.A.S.S. members and other anglers,” said Kelly Brockpahler, Rapala’s director of marketing. “All it takes to enter is a digital snapshot and one email, and an angler has a chance to win a selection of six Rapala bass lures hand-picked by our pros.”

The six lures are a DT, X-Rap, Shad Rap, Clackin’ Rap, Rippin’ Rap and X-Rap Shad, Brockpahler said.
