Bogard Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on the Arkansas River

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (June 9, 2003) - Teddy Bogard of Rison claimed $2,976 as the winner of the Bass Fishing League Arkie Division's fourth regular-season bass fishing tournament, held on the Arkansas River near Pine Bluff. Bogard led the field of 93 boaters with a five-bass catch weighing 13 pounds.

   Rounding out the top five boaters are Darrell West of Drasco (five bass, 12 pounds, 2 ounces, $1,488); Scott Rook of Little Rock (five bass, 10 pounds, 14 ounces, $1,012); Zachary King of Clarksville (five bass, 10 pounds, 13 ounces, $774); and Jamey Black of Sheridan (five bass, 10 pounds, 9 ounces, $655).

   Jamie Jones of Benton claimed a $500 bonus from Ranger Boats as the highest-finishing participant in the Ranger Cup incentive program.

   Stanley Broek Breshears of Rogers topped 93 Co-angler Division competitors with a five-bass catch weighing 11 pounds, 9 ounces. Breshears earned $1,488 for the win.

   Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Jim Cummings of Murfreesboro (four bass, 10 pounds, 12 ounces, $744); Scott Boatright of Sheridan (five bass, 9 pounds, 6 ounces, $506); Randy Billingsley of Sherwood (four bass, 8 pounds, 4 ounces, $387); and James Morris of Pine Bluff (three bass, 8 pounds, 2 ounces, $327).

   Rich Dalbey of Greenville, Texas, earned boater big-bass honors and $465 with a 5-pound, 3-ounce bass, and Daniel Armstrong of Fayetteville earned co-angler big-bass honors and $233 in his division with a 4-pound, 4-ounce bass.
