AURORA, Ky. (June 26, 2006) Boater Kevin Lasater of McKenzie, Tenn., earned $5,024 Saturday as winner of the Bass Fishing League LBL Division bass fishing tournament on Kentucky/Barkley Lakes. The tournament was the fourth of five regular-season LBL Division events and earned Lasater 200 points in the Boater Division.
Lasaters winning catch of five bass weighed 19 pounds, 9 ounces. He was fishing ledges on the south end of Kentucky Lake, throwing a Carolina-rig to catch his bass.
Rounding out the top five boaters are Scott Brummett of Brentwood, Tenn. (five bass, 19 pounds, 3 ounces, $2,512); Billy Schroeder of Paducah, Ky. (five bass, 18 pounds, 10 ounces, $1,674); Roger Walters of Madisonville, Ky. (five bass, 16 pounds, 7 ounces, $1,172); and Larry Frasier of Owensboro, Ky. (five bass, 16 pounds, 2 ounces, $1,005). Brummett also took home an additional $500 for being the highest placing Ranger Cup participant.
Joe White of Princeton, Ky., took Boater Division big-bass award honors, earning $775 for a 7-pound, 1-ounce bass he caught on a junebug worm.
Gary Cole of Sebree, Ky., won the Co-angler Division to earn $2,512 thanks to five bass weighing 16 pounds, 2 ounces that he caught dragging a 1/2-ounce black and blue jig on Lake Barkley. Cole also took home an additional $387 for winning the Co-angler Division big bass award with a 6-pound, 3-ounce bass.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Kirk Holland of Arlington, Ky. (five bass, 14 pounds, 1 ounces, $1,256); Cory York of Benton, Ky. (five bass, 13 pounds, 9 ounces, $838); Jason Housman of Hardin, Ky. (five bass, 13 pounds, 8 ounces, $586); and Barry Mohon of Beechmont, Ky. (three bass, 13 pounds, 6 ounces, $502).
The LBL Divisions next event will be a two-day Super Tournament Sept. 16-17 on Kentucky/Barkley Lakes near Gilbertsville, Ky.
