SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (June 20, 2005) - Boater Rex Huff of Corbin earned $3,698 Saturday as winner of the Bass Fishing League Mountain Division bass fishing tournament on the Barren River. The tournament was the fourth of five regular-season Mountain Division events and earned Huff 200 points in the Boater Division.
Huff's winning catch of five bass weighed 16 pounds, 5 ounces. Huff threw a spook to catch his bass.
Finishing second was Daniel Spencer of Glasgow with five bass weighing 15 pounds, 8 ounces that earned him $1,849. Jerry Reagan of Byrdstown, Tenn., claimed $1,211 as the third-place finisher thanks to five bass weighing 15 pounds, 5 ounces. In fourth was Gary Morrison of Scottsville with five bass weighing 15 pounds worth $941, and finishing fifth and earning $773 was Rob Osborne of Winfield, W.Va., with five bass weighing 14 pounds, 2 ounces.
Jeffery Lewis of East Bernstadt earned $500 as winner of the Ranger Cup award.
Lance Lautzenheiser of Richmond took Boater Division big-bass award honors, earning $575 for a 6-pound, 6-ounce bass. He caught his big bass on a Zoom brush hog.
Richard Snowden of Berea earned $1,839 as the co-angler winner, thanks to five bass weighing 16 pounds, 5 ounces that he caught on a brush hog.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Edward Grady of Owenton (five bass, 9 pounds, 15 ounces, $920); Todd Combs of East Bernstadt (four bass, 8 pounds, 14 ounces, $602); Robert Reeder of Corbin (four bass, 8 pounds, 8 ounces, $468); and Alan Lane of Church Hill, Tenn. (four bass, 7 pounds, 13 ounces, $385).
Jamie Boling of Sevierville, Tenn., earned $283 as the co-angler big-bass award winner with a 4-pound, 9-ounce bass he caught on a brush hog.
The Mountain Division will wrap up its regular season Oct. 1-2 with a two-day Super Tournament on Lake Cherokee near Morristown, Tenn.
