BUCHANAN, Tenn. (June 21, 2004) - Boater Division competitor Scott Brummett of Brentwood earned $3,368 Saturday as winner of the Bass Fishing League Music City Division bass fishing tournament on Kentucky and Barkley lakes near Buchanan. The tournament was the fourth of five regular-season Music City Division events. The regular season will wrap up Sept. 18-19 with a two-day Super Tournament on Old Hickory Lake in Gallatin.
Brummett bested 113 Boater Division competitors with a five-bass catch weighing 16 pounds, 11 ounces. He caught his tournament-winning bass in 20 feet of water on a 10-inch worm and a jig. Brummett also collected a $1,000 bonus from Ranger Boats as the highest-finishing participant in the Ranger Cup incentive program.
Rounding out the top five boaters are Eric White of Anderson, Ala. (five bass, 16 pounds, 6 ounces, $1,684); Sam Lashlee of Camden (five bass, 16 pounds, $1,145); Jason Nichols of Knoxville (five bass, 14 pounds, 14 ounces, $876); and Steve Byram of College Grove (five bass, 14 pounds, 10 ounces, $741).
Steve Mull of Lebanon earned $565 as the Boater Division big-bass award winner with a 6-pound, 3-ounce bass he caught on a floating worm in shallow water.
Tommy Cordy of Puryear won the 112-competitor Co-angler Division with a five-bass catch weighing 15 pounds, 10 ounces. He caught his tournament-winning bass on a swimming worm and earned $1,669 for the win.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Mark Brawner of Lafayette (five bass, 13 pounds, 6 ounces, $835); Curtis Cline of Westmoreland (five bass, 11 pounds, 12 ounces, $568); Donnie Butler of Pegram (four bass, 10 pounds, 7 ounces, $434); and G.W. Kemp of Castalian Springs (four bass, 8 pounds, 3 ounces, $367).
Jeff Glodoski of Springfield caught a 6-pound, 8-ounce bass to win Co-angler Division big-bass honors and $280.
