TELL CITY, Ind. (June 5, 2006) - Boater Jonathan Wright of Dry Ridge, Ky., earned $4,905 Saturday as winner of the Bass Fishing League Hoosier Division bass fishing tournament on the Ohio River. The tournament was the second of five regular-season Hoosier Division events.
Wright's winning catch of five bass weighed10 pounds.
Rounding out the top five boaters are Joe Toon of Louisville, Ky. (four bass, 9 pounds, 9 ounces, $2,453); Michael Trueblood of Madison, Ind. (five bass, 8 pounds, 8 ounces, $1,635); Mikeal Payne Jr. of Hatfield, Ind. (four bass, 7 pounds, 11 ounces, $1,145) and Dick Shaffer of Rockford, Ohio (five bass, 7 pounds, 7 ounces, $981).
Toon also took Boater Division big-bass award honors, earning him an additional $740 for a 5-pound, 15-ounce bass.
Billy Sweet Jr. of Waldron, Ind., bested the Co-angler Division competitors to earn $2,453 thanks to three bass weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Danny Rabinson of Fairland, Ind. (four bass, 6 pounds, 12 ounces, $1,226); Keith Caudill of New Albany, Ind. (two bass, 4 pounds, 8 ounces, $816); Charlie Baldwin of Bunker Hill, Ind. (three bass, 4 pounds $572); and David Dede of Loveland, Ohio (two bass, 3 pounds, 13 ounces, $491).
Caudill earned an additional $370 as the co-angler big-bass award winner with a 2-pound, 15-ounce bass.
The Hoosier Division's next event will be held July 15 on the Ohio RIver near Tell City, Ind., followed by an event on Lake Monroe near Bloomington, Ind., Aug. 26. The Hoosier Division will wrap up its regular season Sept. 23-24 with a two-day Super Tournament on Lake Monroe near Bloomington.
