Kremer Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Lake Seminole

MARIANNA, Fla. (May 1, 2006) - Boater John Kremer of Sanford, Fla., earned $3,418 Saturday as winner of the Bass Fishing League Seminole Division bass fishing tournament on Lake Seminole. The tournament was the fourth of five regular-season Seminole Division events, which earned Kremer 200 points in the Boater Division.

   Kremer's winning catch of five bass weighed 22 pounds, 3 ounces. He was flipping a 4-inch creature bait in and around submerged trees and heavy cover.

   Rounding out the top five boaters were Alan Lamb of Donalsonville, Ga. (five bass, 21 pounds, 6 ounces, $1,709); Walt Starling of Live Oak, Fla. (five bass, 17 pounds, 5 ounces, $1,138); Damon Wooley of Live Oak, Fla. (five bass, 17 pounds, 1 ounces, $798); and Terry Stevens of Marianna, Fla. (five bass, 16 pounds, 5 ounces, $684).

   Lamb also took Boater Division big-bass award honors, earning $420 for a 8-pound bass. Lamb also earned an additional $500 for being the highest-placing Ranger Cup participant.

   Ben Broughton of Day, Fla., won the Co-angler Division to earn $1,709, thanks to five bass weighing 15 pounds, 15 ounces that he caught while fishing postspawn pockets near the main lake.

   Rounding out the top five co-anglers were Michael Wiles of Perry, Fla. (five bass, 13 pounds, 10 ounces, $855); Sean Creel of Panama City, Fla., (four bass, 12 pounds, 11 ounces, $570); Keith Childree of Valdosta, Ga. (five bass, 12 pounds, 8 ounces, $399); and David Honstead of Ocala, Fla., and David Milo of De Bary, Fla., tied for fifth (five bass, three bass, 10 pounds, 13 ounces, $327).

   Sean Creel earned an additional $210 as the co-angler big-bass award winner with a 7-pound, 8-ounce bass.

   The Seminole Division's next event will be the division's two-day Super Tournament, which will be held Sept. 23 on the St. Johns River near Palatka, Fla.
