BRANSON, Mo. (Sept. 12, 2005) - Boater Rick Lisek of Springfield earned $5,483 Saturday as winner of the Bass Fishing League Ozark Division Super Bass Fishing Tournament on Table Rock Lake. The tournament earned Lisek 300 points in the Boater Division.
Lisek's winning catch of 10 bass weighed 24 pounds, 13 ounces. He threw a Jewel jig and a Zoom Speed Crawl around drop-offs in Ants Creek, Piney Creek and Long Creek to catch his bass.
Finishing second was Jeremy Lawyer of Sarcoxie with eight bass weighing 23 pounds, 8 ounces that earned him $2,676. Rick La Point of Springfield claimed $1,305 as the third-place finisher thanks to 10 bass weighing 21 pounds, 10 ounces. In fourth was Mike Gold of Republic with nine bass weighing 20 pounds, 1 ounce worth $1,175 and finishing fifth and earning $1,044 was Shawn Kowal of Linn Creek with seven bass weighing 19 pounds, 15 ounces.
Lawyer earned an additional $750 as winner of the Ranger Cup and Powered by Yamaha contingency awards.
Ken Horn of Republic took Boater Division big-bass award honors, earning $1,000 for a 5-pound, 8-ounce bass. He caught his big bass on a chartreuse worm.
Darren Taylor of Marshfield earned $2,678 as the co-angler winner, thanks to six bass weighing 16 pounds, 12 ounces that he caught on a white jig.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Josh Busby of Springfield (six bass, 13 pounds, 13 ounces, $1,307); John Gay of Fayetteville, Ark. (five bass, 12 pounds, 14 ounces, $638); Mike Baysinger of Marthasville (four bass, 9 pounds, 4 ounces, $574); and Dewey Larson of Fayetteville, Ark. (two bass, 8 pounds, 15 ounces, $510).
Remel Smith of Council Bluffs, Iowa, earned $480 as the co-angler big-bass award winner with a 3-pound, 10-ounce bass he caught on a Mann's green-pumpkin worm on a drop-shot rig.
Following the regular season, the Ozark Division boater with the most points will earn $1,000 as the Yamaha "Be the Best" points champion. The co-angler amassing the most points will earn $500 as the Yamaha "Be the Best" points champion in the Co-angler Division.
The top 40 Ozark Division boaters and co-anglers based on year-end points standings will advance to the Lake Ouachita Regional near Hot Springs, Ark., Oct. 18-22 where they will compete against Cowboy, Louisiana and Okie division anglers for one of six slots in the 2006 All-American.
