CLINTON, Mo. (June 27, 2005) - Boater Andre Dickneite of Freeburg earned $3,613 Saturday as winner of the Bass Fishing League Ozark Division bass fishing tournament on Truman Lake. The tournament was the fourth of five regular-season Ozark Division events and earned Dickneite 200 points in the Boater Division.
Dickneite's winning catch of five bass weighed 12 pounds, 3 ounces. Dickneite threw brown jigs and crankbaits to catch his bass.
Finishing second was Robert Bogan of Farmington, Ark., with five bass weighing 11 pounds, 3 ounces that earned him $1,807. Norman Seat of Reeds Spring claimed $1,182 as the third-place finisher thanks to four bass weighing 9 pounds, 13 ounces. In a fourth-place tie were Jay Hulsey of Bourbon with three bass weighing 9 pounds, 7 ounces and Rick Johnston of Orogono with four bass weighing 9 pounds, 7 ounces. Both anglers earned $838.
Bogan earned an additional $750 as winner of the Ranger Cup and Powered by Yamaha awards.
Shane Follis of Ozark took Boater Division big-bass award honors, earning $555 for a 6-pound, 10-ounce bass. He caught his big bass on a crankbait.
Max Wilson of Everton earned $1,807 as the co-angler winner, thanks to three bass weighing 8 pounds, 11 ounces that he caught on a crankbait.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Tim Schraeder of Springfield (three bass, 8 pounds, 5 ounces, $903); Todd Lanning of Springfield (three bass, 8 pounds, $590); Eric Brantley of Springfield (two bass, 7 pounds, 2 ounces, $460); and Pat Kitts of Joplin (two bass, 6 pounds, 10 ounces, $378).
Brantley earned $278 as the co-angler big-bass award winner with a 4-pound, 13-ounce bass he caught on a jig.
The Ozark Division will wrap up its regular season Sept. 10-11 with a two-day Super Tournament on Table Rock Lake near Branson.
Following the regular season, the Ozark Division boater with the most points will earn $1,000 as the Yamaha "Be the Best" points champion. The co-angler amassing the most points will earn $500 as the Yamaha "Be the Best" points champion in the Co-angler Division.
