CERRITOS, Calif., Oct. 16, 2008 - Daiwa has introduced two new TD Zillion baitcasters with 4.9:1 retrieve - TDZLN100PA and the mirror-image, left-hand model TDZLN100PLA - both specifically designed for crankbait fishing applications. Sleek and lightweight, yet extremely powerful, these state-of-the-art reels offer the slower retrieve speed and higher torque needed to work a wide variety of plugs easily and effectively.

Like all Daiwa TD Zillion baitcasters, the TDZLN100PA and TDZLN100PLA boast unparalleled durability, castability and fish-fighting performance. Each reel features a rigid one piece aluminum frame and handle-side sideplate that protect six ball bearings (including corrosion-resistant CRBB bearings), plus a roller bearing. Also housed within this rugged exterior are high-strength, oversized brass gears that supply plenty of cranking power - even under heavy loads. Daiwa's Swept Handle adds to the cranking ease and efficiency of these reels by moving the paddles closer to the rod's centerline for less wobble and maximum winding leverage.

When it comes to castability, Daiwa's TD Zillion cranking reels are in a class by themselves. Each model features a free-floating perforated aluminum spool that allows for exceptionally long casts, while the built-in Magforce®-Z system provides reliable, automatic anti-backlash control. Ultra-smooth, consistent fish-stopping performance also comes standard, thanks the TD Zillion's eight-disc wet drag with precision-click adjustment.

Additional features include: easy sideplate removal for quick spool changes; aluminum guard plate on top of the reel for finish protection; and Soft Touch handle grips for a comfortable, secure hold.

Both the TDZLN100PA and TDZLN100PLA have a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $269.95.
