MINNEAPOLIS (Nov. 13, 2003) - Energizer, including both its battery and lighting-products business units, announced it has renewed its sponsorship of all six FLW Outdoors tournament trails for the 2004 tournament season. Energizer became an FLW Outdoors sponsor in 2000 and, with its new multiyear contract, will be seen on the tournament trails for years to come. With the support of world-renowned brands such as Energizer batteries and flashlights, professional fishing has grown into the popular sport that it is today.

Energizer, a world leader in the manufacturer of flashlights and batteries, will continue to grow its market share among the more than 52 million American anglers through the rapidly growing base of competitive anglers who are opinion leaders known for their loyalty to FLW Outdoors sponsors. The company will have a major presence on the 2004 EverStart Series, where it will be the presenting sponsor of the 2004 EverStart Series Championship.

"For decades our flashlights and lanterns powered by Energizer batteries have gone on fishing, hunting and camping trips to add to the comfort, safety and fun," said Evan Nunn, general manager, Global Lighting Products. "Energizer Lighting Products are rugged, durable and waterproof, making them the perfect companion to an angler, and of course our batteries help power the long-lasting fun and adventure by fueling the many other portable devices that outdoorsmen rely on. FLW Outdoors tournaments provide an excellent opportunity for us to bring some of our most innovative products to people who enjoy outdoor recreation. We are also proud to be associated with FLW Outdoors and Wal-Mart, both of which are world-class organizations that emphasize the importance of family. We are very proud to be a part of all the tournament trails."

Early on as a sponsor of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour, Energizer recognized the importance of conservation and found a way to encourage FLW Outdoors anglers to maintain a high live-release rate. At the beginning of each tournament season, the company sets a goal for the pros: Maintain a live-release rate of more than 98 percent, and Energizer Lighting Products will make a $25,000 donation to the Children's Miracle Network. The anglers have met this goal every year since it was established.

For the 2004 season, Energizer will enhance its sponsorship program with the addition of a team of two professional anglers who will compete from custom Ranger boats featuring the Energizer logo. Energizer will also participate in the Family Fun Zone at all Wal-Mart FLW Tour events and be publicized through the wide spectrum of media maintained by FLW Outdoors. Publicity will include visibility on the "FLW Outdoors" television program, FLW Outdoors Magazine advertisements, signage at tournaments, and inclusion in tour promotional and public relations materials.

"Energizer is a great example of a sponsor that maximizes all aspects of the FLW Outdoors sponsorship program," said Bill Petrowiak, vice president of marketing and communications for FLW Outdoors. "FLW Outdoors is grateful to have sponsors like Energizer that continue to support our efforts of bringing professional fishing to the masses, growing the sport and also remembering the communities that host our tournaments. We look forward to working with Energizer for years to come."
