MINNEAPOLIS (Dec. 10, 2002) - Skippy Peanut Butter will help spread the fun of fishing to the masses. FLW Outdoors announced Tuesday the addition of Skippy Peanut Butter, one of America's favorite brands, to its growing list of professional fishing tournament sponsors.
With more than 75 percent of American families purchasing peanut butter last year, Skippy knows the value of a family-friendly product. Fishing, a sport open to people of all ages and backgrounds, attracted 55 million anglers to America's waters this year. This equates to a large, loyal consumer base that Skippy can reach through its partnership with FLW Outdoors.
Skippy's 2003 sponsorship will allow it to tap into a broad consumer base through FLW Outdoors' wide range of tournament trails, which include the $5.76 million Wal-Mart FLW Tour, world's most lucrative bass-tournament series; the $3.88 million EverStart Series, the pathway to the FLW Tour; the $7 million Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League for weekend anglers; the $1 million Wal-Mart Texas Tournament Trail; and the $3.07 million Wal-Mart RCL Walleye Tour, the world's most lucrative walleye-tournament series.

During the 2003 season, Skippy will sponsor a professional angler who will compete in a NASCAR-like Ranger boat displaying Skippy's logo. Skippy will also have a presence at the Family Fun Zone, a free event open to the public that is held at each Wal-Mart FLW Tour event. The Family Fun Zone features interactive games and product displays for family members of all ages to enjoy. As an associate sponsor, Skippy will also have the opportunity to use the "Proud Sponsor of FLW Outdoors" logo on its products.
