BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Due to the extreme flooding and damage caused by the remnants of Hurricane Helene, the final St. Croix Open will be moved to Lake Martin, Alabama. The final event of the season, which will qualify nine anglers from the Tackle Warehouse Bassmaster Elite Qualifiers to the Bassmaster Elite Series, was scheduled for South Carolina’s Lake Hartwell on Oct. 10-12. Massive flooding in the area has created dangerous lake conditions, power outages and gas shortages across the state. In an effort to respect the resources and be sensitive to the difficulties storms have created in the area, B.A.S.S. officials have decided to change venues. Alabama’s Lake Martin will now host the final event of the season. This 44,000-acre reservoir located on the Tallapoosa River has not hosted a major B.A.S.S. event since 2018.
The no-information rule for competitors for Lake Martin will go into effect immediately. More details will be released as soon as they are finalized.
