MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Aug. 13, 2003 - The 2004 Bassmaster Tour will visit six sites in 2004 and the newly created Bassmaster Elite 50 series travels to four other cities, which will be hosting their first BASS events.
"We are extremely excited about the locations the Bassmaster Tour will visit in 2004," said Dean Kessel BASS Vice President and General Manager. "Between our six-event Tour schedule and the new, four-event Elite 50 series, we will visit 10 of the premier fisheries in the nation."
The Tour will begin in January and run through March with visits to Florida, Alabama, Missouri and South Carolina. The Elite 50 will visit sites in Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi and Kentucky.
"The Tour and Elite 50 series schedule should be challenging for the anglers," said Trip Weldon, BASS Tournament Director. "There is a big diversity among the lakes. We're going to lowland reservoirs, mountain reservoirs, deep-water reservoirs and river impoundments. It's going to require a lot of different techniques from the anglers and the fishing should be excellent."
The Tour season will begin Jan. 26 in Leesburg, Fla., on the Harris Chain of Lakes, and will visit Jasper, Ala.'s Smith Lake, Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Ala., Table Rock Lake in Kimberling City, Mo., and Alabama's Lake Eufaula. The season will conclude for the Tour anglers on Santee Cooper Lakes in Manning, S.C., March 22-28.
The Elite 50 series will start April 11 on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, Ark. and conclude June 19 on the Ohio, Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers in Paducah, Ky. Russellville, Columbus, Prattville and Paducah will be hosting their first BASS events.
