MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Feb. 4, 2003 - BASS unveiled a new Web-based information system for bass anglers, fans and media today.

"Our new angler database is unprecedented in this sport," said George McNeilly, Director, Communications, ESPN Outdoors. "Our goal is to provide the most current information to our members, fans and friends in the media, and the database is a major step forward in that effort.

"This area of www.bassmaster.com contains highly useful information, including lifetime statistics for professional and amateur anglers in BASS events, and the chance to create head-to-head comparisons of angler performances."

The searchable database also breaks down all BASS events by angler, state, year, and fishery.

"Our goal was to create a very flexible, comprehensive database that we could continuously update," said Communications Manager Jamie Wilkinson.

Wilkinson, who designed and managed the project added, "We designed this to be a great resource for everyone from reporters working on deadline to casual users doing research for our fantasy fishing game."
