CELEBRATION, Fla. - Longtime outdoors writer Tim Tucker, who was a regular contributor to BASS Times and Bassmaster Magazine, died Monday in an automobile accident near Gainesville, Fla.
Tucker contributed significantly to the growth of bass fishing over the past 25 years with articles in a number of publications, including a regular column in the Gainesville Sun. Tucker also wrote a number of fishing books and his writing and photography earned him numerous accolades in the outdoors journalism community.
"Tim Tucker was more than just a co-worker and contributor. He was family," said Dave Precht, senior director of BASS publications. "He was passionate about the sport of bass fishing, and was one of its greatest advocates. We are devastated by this loss."
Tucker is survived by his wife, Darlene, and their two children.
