Peacher Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Toledo Bend

MANY, La. (March 30, 2009) - Larry Peacher of Bentley, La., won the Bass Fishing League Louisiana/Texas Division bass fishing tournament on Toledo Bend Lake Saturday with a five-bass catch weighing 21 pounds, 13 ounces. The victory earned Peacher $4,127 and placed him one step closer to qualifying for the DeGray Lake Regional Championship in Arkadelphia, Ark., Oct. 22-24, where he could ultimately win a new Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.

   Peacher caught his limit throwing a Chatterbait Chartreuse fishing points.

   Rounding out the top five boaters are Cole Garrett of Winnfield, La. (five bass, 18-2, $2,064); Charles D. Hammack of New Caney, Texas (five bass, 17-1, $1,377); Stephen Johnston of Hemphill, Texas (five bass, 16-3, $963) and John Canerday of Calvin, La. (five bass, 16-0, $X,825).

   Danny Bourgeois of Houston, Texas took home the Boater Division Big Bass award, earning $575 for a 12-pound, 6-ounce bass he caught.

   Klint Myers of Hamshire, Texas, earned $2,064 as the co-angler winner Saturday thanks to four bass weighing 14 pounds, 15 ounces.

   Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Myron Sims of Quitman, Texas (five bass, 14-14, $1,032); Joe Garcia of Karnes City, Texas (five bass, 12-4, $688); Thomas Johnson of La Marque, Texas (five bass, 10-5, $482); and Gene Sharbono of Weatherford, Texas (five bass, 9-12, $413).

   Klint Myers earned $287 as the co-angler Big Bass winner after catching an 8-pound, 2-ounce bass.

   The next Louisiana/Texas Division event will be held on Red River in Natchitoches, La., May 2.
