EVANS, Ga. (Sept. 8, 2014) – Jayme Rampey of Liberty, S.C., weighed a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 29 pounds even to win the Bass Fishing League Savannah River Division super tournament on Clarks Hill Lake Sunday. For his victory, Rampey earned $7,687.
“I caught most of my fish on a Zoom Horny Toad and a Knight’s Custom Lures buzzbait around main-lake hydrilla,” said Rampey, who was a rookie on the Walmart FLW Tour this season. “There’s not much hydrilla in the lake right now, so you could pretty much get a bite wherever you found it.
“It was pretty tough and I didn’t catch many, but the ones I caught were good ones,” Rampey explained. “It was definitely not a sure thing. I lost a couple of fish on the first day that I thought would really hurt me, but it turns out they didn’t.”
