APPLING, Ga. (Sept. 08, 2008) - Boater Tim Rhyne of Inman, S.C., won the Bass Fishing League Savannah River Division Super Bass Fishing Tournament on Clarks Hill Lake with a two-day catch of 10 bass weighing 29 pounds, 4 ounces. The victory earned Rhyne $4,800.
Rhyne said he caught the majority of his fish on a soft plastic crawdad mid-lake around six-foot dropoffs.
Rounding out the top five boaters are Keith Hutto of Evans, Ga. (nine bass, 21-01, $2,824); Paul Hanley of Hull, Ga. (nine bass, 18-12, $1,882); Wesley Story of Clarks Hill, S.C. (10 bass, 17-04, $1,318) and Lonnie Fulmer of Batesburg, S.C. (eight bass, 17-02, $1,130).
Rhyne took home the Boater Division Snickers Big Bass award, earning $750 for a 5-pound, 15-ounce bass that he caught on a soft plastic crawdad. Eric Mora of Evans, Ga., earned $2,824 as the co-angler winner thanks to eight bass weighing 15 pounds, 10 ounces that he caught while fishing a Buckeye Lures Wakebait over grass midlake.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Laura Gober of Pendergrass, Ga. (eight bass, 15-06, $1,412); Don Kohli of Lincolnton, Ga. (six bass, 13-14, $940); Todd McAlarney of Elberton, Ga. (six bass, 12-08, $659) and Charles Harbin of Anderson, S.C. (seven bass, 10-15, $565).
Jason Woodring of Hendersonville, N.C., earned $375 as the co-angler Big Bass winner after catching a 6-pound bass by throwing a shaky-head rig.
