Barber Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament On Lake Ferguson

GREENVILLE, Miss. (June 24, 2013) – Joel Barber of Brandon, Miss., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 20 pounds, 7 ounces Saturday to win the Bass Fishing League Mississippi Division tournament on Lake Ferguson. For his victory, Barber earned $3,641.

     

     Rounding out the top 10 pros were:

            2nd:   Jonathan Sultan, Grenada, Miss., five bass, 17-12, $1,820

            3rd:   Philip Atkins, Columbus, Miss., four bass, 14-12, $1,214

            4th:   Scott Hardin, Eads, Tenn., five bass, 14-6, $850

            5th:   Jeff Johnston, Marion, Ark., five bass, 12-10, $728

            6th:   Tim McDaniel, Grenada, Miss., five bass, 11-6, $668

            7th:   Lee West, Tupelo, Miss., five bass, 8-11, $607

            8th:   Michael Savell, Brandon, Miss., four bass, 8-6, $546

            9th:   Buzz Gallo, Moselle, Miss., three bass, 7-8, $485

            10th: Wade Mitchell, Woodland, Miss., three bass, 6-13, $425

     Jason Mitchell of Aberdeen, Miss., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 9 pounds, 13 ounces Saturday to win $1,816 in the co-angler division.  Rounding out the top 10 co-anglers were:

            2nd:   Scott Hambleton, Madison, Miss., two bass, 5-8, $908

            3rd:   Larry Brickey, Steens, Miss., three bass, 5-7, $606

            4th:   Timmy Sullins, Laurel, Miss., two bass, 4-13, $424

            5th:   Jesse Steadham, Florence, Miss., two bass, 4-0, $363

            6th:   John Breeden, Brandon, Miss., three bass, 3-14, $333

            7th:   Ryan LeCompte, Picayune, Miss., two bass, 3-10, $303

            8th:   Shane Cade, Clinton, Miss., two bass, 3-6, $242

            8th:   Joseph Marty, Starkville, Miss., one bass, 3-6, $242

            8th:   Steve Upton, Crystal Springs, Miss., one bass, 3-6, $242

     The final BFL Choo Choo Division tournament of 2013 is scheduled for Sept. 7-8 on Pickwick Lake in Iuka, Miss. After that last divisional tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 10-12 Regional Championship on Kentucky Lake in Gilbertsville, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
