Two Tie at Bass Fishing League Tournament On Lake Keowee

SENECA, S.C. (Feb. 11, 2013) – Darren Ashley of Calhoun Falls, S.C., and Adam Rice of Anderson, S.C., both weighed a five-bass limit totaling 15 pounds, 12 ounces Saturday to tie for first at the Bass Fishing League Savannah River Division event on Lake Keowee. Ashley earned $6,347 ($2,000 Ranger Cup Bonus) and Rice earned $4,347.

      Rounding out the top 10 pros were:

            3rd:    Furman Thompson, Clayton, Ga., five bass, 15-7, $1,934

            4th:    Greg Glouse, Liberty, S.C., five bass, 13-8, $1,352

            5th:   Joe Anders, Easley, S.C., five bass, 13-2, $1,159 + Evinrude Bonus: $300

            6th:    Randy Childers, Anderson, S.C., five bass, 12-13, $1,063

            7th:    Russel Clarke, Abbeville, S.C., five bass, 12-5, $966

            8th:    Jerry Kotal, Elberton, Ga., five bass, 12-2, $869

            9th:    Doug Workman, Cleveland, Ga., five bass, 11-14, $773

            10th:  Craig Rozema, Simpsonville, S.C., five bass, 11-13, $676

      Dustin Shirley of Royston, Ga., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 12 pounds, 11 ounces Saturday to win $2,898 in the co-angler division.

      Rounding out the top 10 co-anglers were:

      The next BFL Savannah River Division tournament is scheduled for March 9 on Lake Hartwell in Lavonia, Ga. After the fifth divisional tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 10-12 Regional Championship on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Ga. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
