Two Tie At Bass Fishing League Tournament On Kerr Lake

HENDERSON, N.C. (April 15, 2013) – Chris Cox of Greenville, N.C., and David Farrington of Greensboro, N.C., both weighed a five-bass limit totaling 16 pounds, 2 ounces Saturday to tie for first at the Bass Fishing League Piedmont Division tournament on Kerr Lake. Cox and Farrington both earned $3,937. Rounding out the top 10 pros were:

            3rd:   Randy Childers, Anderson, S.C., five bass, 16-0, $1,307

            4th:   Jeff Queen, Catawba, N.C., five bass, 14-11, $848

            4th:   Mark Robertson, Henderson, N.C., five bass, 14-11. $848

            6th:   David Wright, Lexington, N.C., five bass, 14-10, $718

            7th:   David Williams, Maiden, N.C., five bass, 14-2, $653 + $300 Evinrude Bonus

            8th:   Todd Walters, Kernersville, N.C., five bass, 13-12, $588

            9th:   Shawn Hammack, Gasburg, Va., five bass, 13-0, $522

            10th: Lee Allred, Youngsville, N.C., five bass, 12-11, $457

      Chris Inscoe of Clayton, N.C., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 13 pounds, 4 ounces Saturday to win $1,921 in the co-angler division.  Rounding out the top 10 co-anglers were:

            2nd:   Arthur Ferguson, Lexington, N.C., three bass, 12-10, $960

            3rd:   John Wilson, Hazelwood, N.C., five bass, 11-4, $641      

            4th:   Dennis Surratt, Denton, N.C., three bass, 8-13, $448

            5th:   Lawrence Aucoin, Charlotte, N.C., three bass, 8-8, $384

            6th:   Tommy Swicegood, Salisbury, N.C., four bass, 8-5, $352

            7th:   Dale Surrett, Midland, N.C., four bass, 7-12, $320

            8th:   Bobby Reeves, Dudley, N.C., four bass, 7-11, $288

            9th:   Dennis Middleton, Madison Heights, Va., three bass, 7-4, $356

            10th: Michael Birr, Franklinton, N.C., three bass, 7-2, $224

      The next BFL Piedmont Division tournament is scheduled for June 8 on Badin Lake in Badin, N.C. After the last divisional tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 17-19 Regional Championship on Lake Hartwell in Lavonia, Ga. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
