HENDERSON, N.C. (March 17, 2008) - Boater Eric Christian of Burlington, N.C., won the Bass Fishing League Piedmont Division bass fishing tournament on Kerr Lake Saturday with a five-bass catch weighing 19 pounds, 4 ounces. The victory earned Christian $4,562 and placed him one step closer to qualifying for the Lake Seminole Regional Championship in Bainbridge, Ga., Oct. 16-18, where he could ultimately win a new 198VX Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.
Rounding out the top four boaters are Van Murray of Raleigh, N.C. (five bass, 16-13, $2,684); Brad Pegram of Henderson, N.C. (five bass, 14-15, $1,789) and Phil Bain of Youngsville, N.C. (five bass, 14-11, $1,253).
Tied for fifth place are Joseph Davis III of Garner, N.C. (four bass, 14-10, $1,029) and Dan Glosson of Rougemont, N.C. (five bass, 14-10, $1,029). Tim Davidson of Stovall, N.C., took home the Boater Division Big Bass award, earning $845 for a 7-pound, 7-ounce bass he caught on a spinnerbait.
Brian Clark of South Boston, Va., earned $2,684 as the co-angler winner Saturday thanks to five bass weighing 15 pounds, 1 ounce that he caught in shallow water on a Rat-L-Trap, crankbait and jig.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Waylon Brown of Elm City, N.C. (five bass, 14-15, $1,117); Claiborn Cox of Timberlake, N.C. (five bass, 14-15, $1,117); Randy Nalls of Hope Mills, N.C. (five bass, 13-15, $626) and David Guichard of Goffstown, N.H. (five bass, 13-14, $537).
Aaron Fisher of Mechanicsville, Va., earned $422 as the co-angler Big Bass winner after catching a 6-pound, 14-ounce bass.
