Fox Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on the Kissimmee River

LAKE WALES, Fla. (Sept. 21, 2009) - Kyle Fox of Lakeland, Fla., won the Bass Fishing League final Everglades Division bass fishing tournament on the Kissimmee River Sunday with a two-day 10-bass catch weighing 41 pounds, 5 ounces. The victory earned Fox $4,540.

 Anglers were competing to qualify for the Lake Seminole Regional Championship in Bainbridge, Ga., Oct. 22-24, where they could ultimately win a new Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.

 On a hot overcast weekend Fox was able to catch his bass flipping black frog on top water; he also used wine and blue Culprit Foxy Craw.

 Rounding out the top five boaters are Gary Niemi of Lake Placid, Fla. (10 bass, 35-12, $2,270); Allan Cagle of Deltona, Fla. (10 bass, 35-11, $1,515); Don Demott of Boca Raton, Fla. (10 bass, 35-10, $1,059); and Matt Hinman of Palm Bay, Fla. (10 bass, 35-4, $908).

 Darrell Cranor of Lakeland, Fla., took home the Boater Division Folgers Big Bass award, earning $532 for a 9-pound, 14-ounce bass he caught on a blueberry trick worm.

 Jimmy Bass of Felda, Fla., earned $2,302 as the co-angler winner Saturday thanks to 10 - bass weighing 24 pounds, 2 ounces that he caught on a Speed worm junebug color.

 Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Jay Trudel of Boca Raton, Fla. (10 bass, 23-5, $1,151); David Milo of DeBary, Fla. (10 bass, 20-10, $767); Douglas Conklin of Harmony, Fla. (10 bass, 20-3, $537); and John Hendry of Lakeland, Fla. (10 bass, 18-3, $460).

 Jimmy Bass also earned $270 as the co-angler Folgers Big Bass winner after catching a 6-pound, 12-ounce bass on a skinny dipper.
