Thill Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament On Mississippi River

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Sept. 23, 2013) – Dan Thill of La Crosse, Wis., weighed in a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 30 pounds, 13 ounces Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Great Lakes Division super tournament on the Mississippi River at La Crosse. For his victory, Thill earned $5,817.

     Rounding out the top 10 pros were:

            2nd:   Mike Brueggen, La Crosse, Wis., 10 bass, 30-5, $2,909

            3rd:   Kyle Von Ruden, Stoddard, Wis., 10 bass, 30-1, $1,939

            4th:    Jeff Benson, Holmen, Wis., 10 bass, 29-9, $1,357

            5th:    Tom Monsoor, La Crosse, Wis., 10 bass, 29-5, $1,163

            6th:    Mike Kiese, Weaver, Minn., nine bass, 28-15, $1,066 + $300 Evinrude Bonus

            7th:    Joe Hall, Lake City, Minn., 10 bass, 28-2, $970

            8th:    Brandon Gann, Sparta, Wis., 10 bass, 28-1, $873

            9th:    Travis Brueggen, Cashton, Wis., 10 bass, 28-0, $776

            10th: Steve Johnson, Lake Villa, Ill., 10 bass, 28-0, $679

     Jason Brenic of Sussex, Wis., weighed in a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 23 pounds, 5 ounces Sunday to win $2,909 in the co-angler division.   Rounding out the top 10 co-anglers were:

            3rd:   Timothy Wittren, Mauston, Wis., nine bass, 20-14, $970

            5th:    Brad Wessling, Milwaukee, Wis., 10 bass, 19-11, $582

            6th:    Bill McBride, Rockford, Ill., nine bass, 19-10, $533

            7th:    Patrick Reynolds, Waterloo, Iowa, nine bass, 18-14, $485

            8th:    Dylan Fisher, Prairie Du Chien, Wis., nine bass, 17-11, $436

            9th:    Richard Conrad, Hudson, Wis., eight bass, 17-7, $388

     The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 10-12 Regional Championship on Kentucky Lake in Gilbertsville, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
