Jensen Wins Bass Fishing League Tounament On Lake Murray

PROSPERITY, S.C. (March 4, 2013) – Jeremiah Jensen of Columbia, S.C., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 25 pounds, 3 ounces Saturday to win the Bass Fishing League South Carolina Division tournament on Lake Murray. For his victory, Jensen earned $3,337.

 

      Rounding out the top 10 pros were:

            2nd:   Ross Burns, Columbia, S.C., five bass, 23-0, $1,668

            3rd:   Chris Marshall, Forest City, N.C., five bass, 22-4, $1,112

            4th:   Brock Taylor, Pendleton, S.C., five bass, 21-0, $779

            5th:   Todd Lawrence, Rock Hill, S.C., five bass, 20-15, $667

            6th:   Joey Sabbagha, Little Mountain, S.C., five bass, 17-9, $612

            7th:   Eddie Herlong Sr., Prosperity, S.C., four bass, 17-0, $556

            8th:   Chris Blanchette, Irmo, S.C., five bass, 16-13, $473

            8th:   Dustin Compton, Inman, S.C., five bass, 16-13, $473

     Earnest Jones of Blythewood, S.C., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 10 pounds, 1 ounce Saturday to win $1,668 in the co-angler division.  Rounding out the top 10 co-anglers were:

            2nd:   Chris Coxey, Chesnee, S.C., four bass, 9-11, $834

            3rd:   Jason Sturgill, Pennington Gap, Va., four bass, 9-7, $558

            4th:   Dale Hamby, Waterloo, S.C., two bass, 7-2, $389

            5th:   Andy Burgess, Greenville, S.C., four bass, 7-0, $334

            6th:   Gregory Littles, Columbia, S.C., two bass, 6-14, $306

            7th:   Virgil Wicks, Gaffney, S.C., three bass, 6-12, $278

            8th:   Brian Bell, Lexington, S.C., two bass, 6-8, $250

      The next BFL South Carolina Division tournament is scheduled for April 13 on the Santee Cooper lakes in Summerton, S.C. After the last divisional tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 3–5 Regional Championship on Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Ala. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
