MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 29, 2014) – Christopher Brown of Lexington, North Carolina, weighed a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 25 pounds, 13 ounces to win the Bass Fishing League North Carolina Division Super Tournament on Lake Norman Sunday. For his victory, Brown earned $6,077.

“I caught all of my fish on a green pumpkin with blue flake-colored Zoom Trick Worm on a 1/4-ounce Dave’s Tournament Tackle Shakey Head,” said Brown, who earned his first BFL tournament win. “I caught them fishing docks above the Highway 150 bridge, from 4- to 10-feet deep. There wasn’t really a lot of rhyme or reason to it. I was just fishing docks that I’d caught fish on in practice. It did seem that docks on points were key, and if the end of the dock was in more than about 10 feet of water I wouldn’t catch one on it.

“I caught about 20 keepers overall,” Brown continued. “I was fortunate and caught a 5-pound largemouth on both days. A 5-pounder on Lake Norman is like gold. I also had a big spotted bass on Saturday that was pretty close to 4 pounds.

“It feels great to win,” finished Brown. “I’ve fished a lot of BFL tournaments, but my track record has never been that good. High Rock Lake is my home lake, so it feels good to win somewhere other than home.”
