Baldwin Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Ohio River

LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (Sept. 14, 2015) – Brad Baldwin of Waynesville, Ohio, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 8 pounds even Sunday to win the Bass Fishing League Hoosier Division Super Tournament on the Ohio River with a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 18 pounds, 1 ounce. For his victory, Baldwin earned $5,690.

According to tournament reports, Baldwin caught his winning weights by fishing shallow wood in creeks with a spinnerbait and buzzbait.

The top 10 boaters finished the tournament in:

2nd:         John Bitter, Maitland, Fla., nine bass, 15-5, $2,845

3rd:          Clyde McNaron, Trenton, Ohio, eight bass, 14-6, $1,897

4th:          Matt McCoy, Indianapolis, Ind., eight bass, 13-14, $1,328

5th:          Brandon Houston, Burlington, Ky., nine bass, 13-13, $1,138

6th:          Ken Garbe, Loveland, Ohio, 10 bass, 13-13, $1,043

7th:          Sean Gillenwater, Bloomington, Ind., nine bass, 12-15, $948

8th:          Eric Moore, Hamilton, Ohio, 10 bass, 12-5, $853

9th:          Tilford Head, Hamilton, Ohio, seven bass, 12-4, $759

McNaron caught the biggest bass of the tournament in the pro division, a fish weighing 4 pounds, 14 ounces and earned the day’s Big Bass award of $742. Ron Weisenburger of Continental, Ohio, won the co-angler division and $2,845 with a two-day total of eight bass weighing 11 pounds, 5 ounces. The top 10 co-anglers were:

Von Hoene caught the biggest bass of the tournament in the co-angler division and earned the day’s Big Bass award of $371.

The top 50 boaters and 50 co-anglers based on point standings now qualify for the Oct. 15-17 Regional Championship on Kentucky Lake in Gilbertsville, Kentucky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and $20,000, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
