Weisenburger Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament On Ohio River

 LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (Aug. 26, 2013) – Kyle Weisenburger of Ottawa, Ohio, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 9 pounds, 6 ounces Saturday to win the Bass Fishing League Buckeye Division tournament on the Ohio River at Tanner’s Creek. For his victory, Weisenburger earned $3,418.

     

     Rounding out the top 10 pros were:

            2nd:   Kaoru O’Bryan, Crestwood, Ky., five bass, 8-6, $1,709

            3rd:   Larry Sisk, Evansville, Ind., five bass, 7-10, $968

            3rd:   David Spivey, Hamilton, Ohio, five bass, 7-10, $968 + $300 Evinrude Bonus

            5th:   Phil Wiggins, Goshen, Ohio, five bass, 7-2, $684

            6th:   Frank McClain, Scottsburg, Ind., five bass, 7-1, $627

            7th:   Chris Wilkinson, Farmersburg, Ind., five bass, 6-13, $570

            8th:   Wes Campbell, Brookville, Ohio, five bass, 6-7, $513

            9th:   Dick Shaffer, Rockford, Ohio, four bass, 6-3, $456

            10th: Michael Koetting, Melbourne, Ky., four bass, 5-14, $399

 

     Brad Lyon of Columbus, Ohio, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 8 pounds, 10 ounces Saturday to win $1,709 in the co-angler division.  Rounding out the top 10 co-anglers were:

            2nd:   Brody Campbell, Oxford, Ohio, five bass, 7-4, $855

            3rd:   Trent Norman, Cincinnati, Ohio, five bass, 6-10, $570

            4th:   Brent Jones, Okeana, Ohio, five bass, 5-12, $399

            5th:   Jason Skipworth, Rising Sun, Ind., four bass, 4-11, $342

            6th:   David Palmer, Sandusky, Ohio, four bass, 4-4, $313

            7th:   Greg Marshall, Paris, Ky., one bass, 4-0, $270

            7th:   Benjamin Runyan, Goshen, Ohio, three bass, 4-0, $270

            9th:   Darrell Carroll, Independence, Ky., three bass, 3-14, $213

            9th:   Doug Ruster, New Palestine, Ind., three bass, 3-14, $213

     The final BFL Buckeye Division tournament of 2013 is scheduled for Sept. 7-8 on the Ohio River at Tanner’s Creek in Lawrenceburg, Ind. After the last divisional tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 3-5 Regional Championship at Chesapeake Bay in North East, Md. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
