GALLATIN, Tenn. (June 10, 2013) – Scott Lefevers of Hermitage, Tenn., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 16 pounds, 8 ounces Saturday to win the Bass Fishing League Music City Division tournament on Old Hickory Lake. For his victory, Lefevers earned $2,596.

“I thought I had enough weight for a pretty good finish,” said Lefevers. “I was shocked that I won it, though. The biggest factor for me in this event was my location.”

After a two-hour fog delay, Lefevers decided to fish the drops in the mid-lake area. He said that he would set his boat in 25 feet of water and cast his baits to the tops of the drops in about 5 to 7 feet of water.

“I knew that area is usually pretty good this time of year,” Lefevers continued. “I checked it in practice and I knew that it had the potential to produce some good numbers of fish. I caught around 20 fish throughout the day, but the bite was better in the morning.”

Lefevers said that he caught his fish Texas-rigging a green pumpkin Zoom Trick Worm and throwing a Texas craw-colored Hoppy’s Rattlin Brush Bug.
