Williams Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Lake Ouachita

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (Oct. 1, 2012) – Jerry Williams of Conway, Ark., weighed a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 23 pounds, 2 ounces to win the Bass Fishing League Arkie Division super bass fishing tournament on Lake Ouachita in Hot Springs, Ark., on  Sunday. For his victory, Williams earned $6,465.

     

     Rounding out the top 10 pros were:

          2nd:   Kevin Hartman, Greenbrier, Ark., 10 bass, 21-4, $2,233.

          3rd:   Mark Ladd, Greenwood, Ark., 10 bass, 19-10, $1,488.

          4th:    Greg Carpenter, Royal, Ark., 10 bass, 19-1, $1,042.

          5th:    Adam Wright, Benton, Ark., 10 bass, 18-8, $893.

          6th:    Dennis Bean, Hot Springs, Ark., 10 bass, 18-4, $819.

          7th:    Chris Darby, Mount Ida, Ark., 10 bass, 17-0, $744.

          8th:    Keith Green, Arkadelphia, Ark., 10 bass, 16-11, $670.

          9th:    Derek Sandlin, Mount Ida, Ark., 10 bass, 16-7, $595.

          10th: Spencer Shuffield, Bismarck, Ark., 10 bass, 16-6, $521.

     Kevin Hopkins of Poyen, Ark., weighed in 10 bass totaling 17 pounds, 6 ounces Sunday to win $2,233 in the co-angler division.

     Rounding out the top 10 co-anglers were:

          2nd:   Stan Cullipher, Malvern, Ark., seven bass, 15-1, $1,116.

          3rd:   Keeton Blaylock, Benton, Ark., 10 bass, 13-15, $744.

          4th:    Jonathan Starkey, Conway, Ark., 10 bass, 13-13, $521.

          5th:    John McCullar, Benton, Ark., eight bass, 12-10, $447.

          6th:    Ricky Duncan, Cabot, Ark., nine bass, 12-1, $409.

          7th:    Michael Gross, Gurdon, Ark., nine bass, 12-0, $372.

          8th:    Evan Barnes, Casa, Ark., seven bass, 11-4, $335.

          9th:    Pete Clark, Malvern, Ark., nine bass, 11-1, $298.

          10th: Brian Choate, Conway, Ark., seven bass, 10-10, $260.

     The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 18-20 Regional Championship on the Red River in Natchitoches, La. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
