Grace Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament On Lake Ouachita

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (March 24, 2014) – Spencer Grace of Russellville, Ark., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 21 pounds, 2 ounces Saturday to win the Bass Fishing League Arkie Division tournament on Lake Ouachita. For his victory, Grace earned $3,926.

     Grace said that he used a peanut butter and jelly-colored jig on deep points to catch his fish. Rounding out the top 10 pros were:

            2nd:   Kevin Hartman, Greenbrier, Ark., five bass, 20-11, $1,963

            3rd:   Jeremy Campbell, Benton, Ark., five bass, 18-5, $1,309

            4th:    Duke Gunnell, Bee Branch, Ark., five bass, 18-1, $916

            5th:    Huey Applegate, Jessieville, Ark., five bass, 17-7, $785

            6th:    Shawn Gordon, Russellville, Ark., five bass, 16-12, $720

            7th:    Quincy Houchin, Mabelvale, Ark., five bass, 16-9, $654

            8th:    Ronald Mounts, Hoxie, Ark., five bass, 15-6, $589

            9th:    Russell Richmond, Little Rock, Ark., five bass, 15-5, $490

            9th:    Michael Yoder, Texarkana, Ark., five bass, 15-5, $490

     Joe Coble of Malvern, Ark., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 17 pounds, 11 ounces Saturday to win $1,963 in the co-angler division.  Rounding out the top 10 co-anglers were:

            2nd:   Jesse Mitchell, Malvern, Ark., five bass, 14-15, $891

            3rd:   Darren Johnson, Malvern, Ark., five bass, 14-1, $655

            4th:    Cody Howerton, Rogers, Ark., five bass, 12-14, $458

            5th:    Nathan Hall, Sheridan, Ark., five bass, 12-12, $393

            6th:    Michael Gross, Gurdon, Ark., five bass, 12-6, $360

            7th:    Josh Tittle, Monticello, Ark., four bass, 11-13, $327

            8th:    Mike Webster, Atkins, Ark., five bass, 11-4, $294

            9th:    Robert Bogard Jr., Conway, Ark., five bass, 11-2, $262

            10th: Gary Holt, Harrison, Ark., four bass, 10-15, $229

      The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 16-18 Regional Championship on Sam Rayburn Reservoir in Jasper, Texas. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
