Lorenzo Wins Bass Fishing League Event on the Potomac River

WHAT : John Lorenzo of Kane, Pa., caught a 5-bass limit weighing 18 pounds, 2 ounces Saturday, May 1, 2010 to win $6000* in the FLW Bass Fishing League Northeast Division tournament on the Potomac River. Under bright sunny skies Lorenzo was throwing black and blue jigs in the grass on the main lake below Mattawoman.

WHAT : Gregory Selby of Hanover, Pa., caught a 5-bass limit weighing 15 pounds, 13 ounces Saturday, May 1, 2010 to win $2000 in the FLW BFL Northeast Co-angler Division on the Potomac River. Selby was using a pumpkin seed senko in 4-6 feet of water around grassy areas on the north end of the lake by the Army base to bag his limit.

NOTES: The next BFL Northeast Division tournament is scheduled for June 12, at Chesapeake Bay in North East Md. After the fifth Northeast Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Regional Championship at the Potomac River in Woodbridge, Va., on Oct. 7-9, for a chance to win a 198VX Ranger boat with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
