Darnell Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Potomac River

MARBURY, Md. (Oct. 1, 2018) – Boater Otis Darnell of Linden, Virginia, won the Bass Fishing League (BFL) Shenandoah Division tournament on the Potomac River Sunday with a two-day cumulative catch of 10 bass weighing 32 pounds even. For his win, Darnell earned $5,460. Darnell was unable to be reached for details, but according to post-tournament reports he caught his fish junk fishing north of the takeoff ramp. His most productive baits were a swimjig and a Z-Man ChatterBait.

Marvin Reese of Randallstown, Maryland, caught a largemouth weighing 5 pounds, 3 ounces – the heaviest of the event in the Boater Division. The catch earned him the Boater Big Bass award of $712. Tony Toombs of Drakes Branch, Virginia, caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 22 pounds, 12 ounces to win the Co-angler Division and $2,730.

Kenny Main of Colonial Heights, Virginia, caught the largest largemouth bass in the Co-angler Division weighing 6 pounds, 2 ounces – and earned the Co-angler Big Bass award of $356.
