Bickham Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Sam Rayburn Reservoir

JASPER, Texas (Oct. 6, 2008) - Boater Ronnie Bickham of New Boston, Texas, won the Bass Fishing League Louisiana/Texas Division Super Bass Fishing Tournament on Sam Rayburn Reservoir with a two-day catch of 10 bass weighing 37 pounds, 4 ounces. The victory earned Bickham $4,678.

   Rounding out the top five boaters are Jeff Holder of Bossier City, La. (10 bass, 36-05, $2,752); Keith Caka of Brookeland, Texas (10 bass, 35-11, $1,835); Ernie Paul of Longview, Texas (10 bass, 35-09, $1,284) and Andrew Upshaw of Hemphill, Texas (10 bass, 33-05, $1,101).

   Randy Turner of Lufkin, Texas, took home the Boater Division Big Bass award, earning $705 for a 7-pound, 1-ounce bass.

   Gene White of The Woodlands, Texas, earned $2,752 as the co-angler winner thanks to nine bass weighing 24 pounds even that he caught.

   Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Steve Woodie of Sour Lake, Texas (10 bass, 21-00, $1,376); Myron Sims of Quitman, Texas (eight bass, 19-13, $918); Dan Self of Nacogdoches, Texas (nine bass, 19-06, $642) and Klint Myers of Hamshire, Texas (nine bass, 18-01, $550).

   John Ellender of Hemphill earned $352 as the co-angler Big Bass winner after catching a 6-pound, 4-ounce bass.
