Talbott Wins Bass Fishing League Event on Smith Mountain Lake

WHAT : Curtis Talbott of Forest, Va., caught a 5-bass limit weighing 20 pounds, 6 ounces Saturday, April 10, 2010 to win $4,359 in the FLW Bass Fishing League Shenandoah Division tournament on Smith Mountain Lake. He used spinnerbaits near rocky points to bag his limit.

 3rd: Terry Olinger, Hume, Va., five bass, 18-8, $1,452

 4th: Darrell Stevens, Roseland, Va., five bass, 18, $1,017

 5th: Philip Jarabeck, Lynchburg, Va., five bass, 17-15, $872

 6th: Barton Wines, Warrenton, Va., five bass, 17-8, $799

 7th: Marty Howard, Lynchburg, Va., five bass, 16-15, $726

 8th: Derik Hudson, Hurt, Va., five bass, 16-11, $654

 9th: Jerry Rice, Altavista, Va., five bass, 16-10, $581

 10th: Boogie Atkins, Greenville, Va., five bass, 16-8, $509

WHAT : David Frady of Roanoke, Va., caught four bass weighing 11 pounds, 13 ounces Saturday, April 10, 2010 to win $2,175 in the FLW BFL Shenandoah Co-angler Division on Smith Mountain Lake. Frady was using Bandit Tennessee Shad around rocks and lay downs to claim his victory.

 9th: Vic Riveras, Newport News, Va., five bass, 10-1, $290

 10th: Tom Craig, Youngsville, N.C., three bass, 9-14, $254

NOTES: The next BFL Shenandoah Division tournament is scheduled for May 15, at Kerr Lake in Henderson, N.C. After the fifth Shenandoah Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Regional Championship at the Potomac River in Woodbridge, Va., on Oct. 7-9, for a chance to win a 198VX Ranger boat with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
