Malcolm Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Lake Eufaula

EUFAULA, Ala. (Sept. 10, 2007) - Boater Tim Malcolm of Americus, Ga., won the Bass Fishing League Bulldog Division Super Tournament on Lake Eufaula with a two-day catch of 10 bass weighing 23 pounds, 11 ounces. The victory earned Malcolm $6,704 and placed him one step closer to qualifying for the Lake Seminole Regional Championship in Bainbridge, Ga., Oct. 25-27, where he could ultimately win a new 519VX Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.

   Malcolm caught his bass on a Carolina rig ledge fishing in 12 to 14 feet of water.

   Rounding out the top five boaters are Tom Hamlin Jr. of Lizella, Ga. (10 bass, 23-09, $3,944); Mark Holloway of Madison, Ga. (eight bass, 22-13, $2,630); Ryan Ingram of Phenix City, Ala. (10 bass, 22-01, $1,840) and Sam Moody of Albany, Ga. (10 bass, 21-12, $1,578).

   Mike Cavender of Phenix City, Ala., took home the Boater Division Snickers Big Bass award, earning $1,230 for a 5-pound, 6-ounce bass.

   Keith Howard of Warner Robins, Ga., earned $3,782 as the co-angler winner thanks to nine bass weighing 15 pounds, 15 ounces that he caught while flipping near docks.

   Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Jason Waddell of Louisville, Ala. (seven bass, 15-00, $1,891); Joey Yasinski of Senoia, Ga. (seven bass, 14-07, $1,264); James Sharp of Leesburg, Ga. (eight bass, 14-05, $883) and Emory Walden of Newnan, Ga. (seven bass, 13-12, $756).

   Howard also earned $577 as the co-angler Big Bass winner after catching a 6-pound, 4-ounce bass.
