GROVE, Okla. (Sept. 11, 2006) - Boater Lance Williams of Billings, Mo., earned 300 points and $5,632 Sunday as the winner of the Bass Fishing League Okie Division Super Bass Tournament on Grand Lake.
Williams' two-day winning catch of 10 bass weighed 29 pounds, 6 ounces.
Rounding out the top five boaters are Chris Torkleson of Sand Springs, Okla. (10 bass, 27 pounds, 10 ounces, $2,816); Joel Baker of Talala, Okla. (10 bass, 27 pounds, 2 ounces, $1,877); Jay Scott of Jay, Okla., (10 bass, 26 pounds, 14 ounces, $1,314) and Wayne Diffee of Oakhurst, Okla. (10 bass, 26 pounds, 10 ounces, $1,126).
Torkleson also took home an additional $500 for being the highest placing Ranger Cup participant.
Derick Frye of Tulsa, Okla., won the Boater Division Snickers Big Bass award with a 5-pound, 14-ounce bass that earned him $735.
Marshall Halverson of Glencoe, Okla., earned $2,816 as the co-angler winner thanks to 10 bass weighing 22 pounds, 1 ounce.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Travis Miskovsky of Oklahoma City, Okla. (10 bass, 21 pounds, 5 ounces, $1,408); John Stottlemyre of Luther, Okla. (six bass, 18 pounds, 11 ounces, $941); Dan Hayes of Tulsa, Okla., (10 bass, 17 pounds, 13 ounces, $657) and Don Benson of Eufaula, Okla. (seven bass, 17 pounds, 1 ounce, $563).
Stottlemyre earned an additional $367 as the co-angler Snickers Big Bass winner with a 4-pound, 12-ounce bass.
The top 40 Okie boaters and co-anglers based on year-end points standings will now advance to the no-entry-fee Wright Patman Regional Championship near Texarkana, Texas, Oct. 19-21, where they will compete against Arkie, Cowboy and Louisiana anglers for a new Ranger boat and a Chevy truck in the Boater Division plus six slots in the no-entry-fee 2007 Wal-Mart BFL All-American.
