Huntsman Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Kentucky Lake

BENTON, Ky. (Oct. 1, 2007) - Boater Clint Huntsman of Cadiz, Ky., won the Bass Fishing League LBL Division Super Bass Fishing Tournament on Kentucky Lake with a two-day catch of 10 bass weighing 29 pounds, 8 ounces. The victory earned Huntsman $5,396 and placed him one step closer to qualifying for the Fort Loudoun-Tellico Lakes Regional Championship in Lenoir City, Tenn., Oct. 18-20, where he could ultimately win a new 519VX Ranger boat and a Chevy truck.

   Huntsman caught his bass throwing a jig and spinnerbait on shallow ledges at Barkley Lake.

   Rounding out the top five boaters are Bobby Kilzer of Paris, Tenn. (eight bass, 24-09, $3,175); Tim Griggs of Paducah, Ky. (seven bass, 22-09, $2,117); Mike Ward of Paris, Tenn. (nine bass, 21-08, $1,481) and Brandon Hunter of Benton, Ky. (seven bass, 20-06, $1,270).

   Kilzer also took home the Boater Division Snickers Big Bass award, earning $885 for a 6-pound, 8-ounce bass.

   Bobby Wade of Sedalia, Ky., earned $3,175 as the co-angler winner thanks to seven bass weighing 20 pounds, 8 ounces that he caught while fishing a Rat-L-Trap on isolated cover and flats.

   Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Larry Martin of Clarksville, Tenn. (eight bass, 20-01, $1,587); Brent Stevenson of Benton, Ky. (five bass, 18-04, $1,059); Doug Aebersold of Louisville, Ky. (four bass, 14-01, $741) and Mark Horton of Nicholasville, Ky. (six bass, 13-04, $635).

   Mike Mosby of Petersburg, Ind., earned $442 as the co-angler Big Bass winner after catching a 5-pound, 13-ounce bass.
