BLOOMINGTON, IND. (Sept. 25, 2006) - Boater Larry Sisk of Evansville, Ind., earned 300 points and $5,329 Sunday as the winner of the Bass Fishing League Hoosier Division Super Bass Tournament on Lake Monroe.
Sisk's two-day winning catch of eight bass weighed 14 pounds, 10 ounces. Sisk caught his fish on a War Eagle Spinnerbait in the Paynetown area in water ranging from one to five feet deep.
Rounding out the top five boaters are Don Spillane Jr., of Liberty Township, Ohio (five bass, 12 pounds, 3 ounces, $2,664); Ryan Deal of Haubstadt, Ind. (four bass, 12 pounds, 3 ounces, $1,777); Kenneth Bortlein of West Harrison, Ind. (four bass, 11 pounds, 7 ounces, $1,243) and Tom Forrester of Bloomington, Ind. (four bass, 10 pounds, 14 ounces, $1,066).
Deal also took home $500 for being the highest placing Ranger Cup participant.
Tim Barkley of Indianapolis won the Boater Division Big Bass award with a 5-pound, 12-ounce bass that earned him $682.
Rick Hoskins of Linden, Ind., earned $2,664 as the co-angler winner thanks to three bass weighing 9 pounds, 13 ounces that he caught on a spinnerbait made by Abbott's Outdoors.
Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Danny Robinson of Fairland, Ind. (three bass, 9 pounds, 7 ounces, $1,332); George osha of Steger, Ill. (four bass, 8 pounds, 8 ounces, $889); Elvin Shinolt of Columbus, Ind. (three bass, 7 pounds, 15 ounces, $622); and Rob Campbell of Martinsville, Ind. (two bass, 7 pounds, 8 ounces, $533).
Nick Cummins of Lawrenceburg, Ind., earned $341 as the co-angler Snickers Big Bass winner with a 7-pound, 7-ounce bass.
The top 40 Hoosier Division boaters and co-anglers based on year-end points standings will now advance to the no-entry-fee Kentucky Lake Regional Championship near Gilbertsville, Ky., Oct. 19-21, where they will compete against Bama, Buckeye and Mountain Division anglers for a new Ranger boat and a Chevy truck in the Boater Division plus six slots in the no-entry-fee 2007 Wal-Mart BFL All-American.
